Inside the Alcázar
Toilets. OpenStreetMap shows toilets just inside the entrance, by the first courtyards, and more in the gardens, including next to the café. The ones by the entrance are the easiest to reach before you start the palaces.
A café in the gardens. There is a cafeteria inside the gardens, listed by visitors as the Cafetería del Real Alcázar, with tables among the palms and orange trees. It is the only place to sit down with a drink without leaving: once you walk out, you cannot count on getting back in.
Drinking water. Two public fountains are mapped inside the gardens. In summer, bring a full bottle anyway and refill there.
Shade and benches. The long galleries (the Galería del Grutesco, the arcades by the pools) are the coolest places to rest. See the gardens.
Before you go in: bags and lockers
Large backpacks and suitcases are not allowed in (see visitor tips), and the Upper Royal Quarters take nothing at all, not even a phone. If you arrive with luggage:

Cards are widely accepted in Seville. A few euros in cash still help for small bars and, if you visit the Upper Royal Quarters, the €1 coin that visitors report for the lockers.
Public drinking fountains are also mapped around the Plaza del Triunfo, on Avenida de la Constitución and in the Jardines de Murillo, beside the Alcázar's outer wall.
Where to eat nearby
Within five minutes' walk there are dozens of bars and restaurants. A few rules of thumb:
The terraces facing the Cathedral and the Alcázar are the busiest and priciest. Walk two or three streets into Santa Cruz and prices drop. See Santa Cruz.
Calle Mateos Gago, from Santa Cruz towards the Giralda, is lined with tapas bars.
Eat late, like Sevillians. Lunch runs from about 14:00 and dinner from about 21:00; many kitchens close between services.
Quick and cheap: the supermarket above for water and snacks before a long garden walk in summer.
