How to recognise the official shop
The price. General admission is €15.50, reduced €8.00. A site charging more for the same plain entry ticket is a reseller.
The link. Start from alcazarsevilla.org and follow its ticket link, rather than clicking an ad in search results.
What is on sale. When we checked, the official shop listed: the general visit, the visit with the Upper Royal Quarters, the free Monday visit, a free guided visit to the roofs of the Gothic Palace and the upper Galería del Grutesco (only for people from Seville), a visit to the archaeological crypt, and the theatrical night visits. See special visits. It does not sell guided tours with transport or combos with other monuments.
Who is behind it. The footer of the official site is signed by the Patronato del Real Alcázar y Casa Consistorial de Sevilla, with an address on the Patio de Banderas and a phone number. A site that does not say who runs it deserves suspicion.
Resellers are not always bad, but know what you are buying
Many sites use words like "official" in their names. Some resell the plain ticket with a mark-up; others sell genuine guided tours that include entry. A tour costs more because it includes a guide, not because the ticket is different.
Bookmark the shop, not a search result. The commonest way people overpay is to search "Alcázar tickets", click the first paid link and buy a €15.50 ticket for more.
