Yes, the Real Alcázar opens at night. In 2026 there are theatrical night visits (€15.00, every Thursday and Friday until the end of October) and, in summer, concerts in the gardens (€7.00, 25 June to 19 September 2026).
In 2026 the theme is the imperial wedding: on 11 March 1526 Emperor Charles V married Isabella of Portugal inside the Alcázar, and the palace is marking the 500th anniversary with a year of events. The performance is produced by Teatro Clásico de Sevilla, with texts by Alfonso Zurro, according to Sevilla Secreta.
What to know before you book
The season ends in October. After the last Thursday and Friday of October there are no more performances this year. If you are in Seville before then, this is the one to book.
It is in Spanish only, and it is a play, not a guided tour: without Spanish you follow the setting, not the story.
Tickets are personal. Each one carries a name and surname plus a DNI or passport number, so have every visitor's details ready when you book.
Be on time. You can go in from 15 minutes before the time on your ticket, and nobody is let in once the performance has started.
No food or drink, except water.
Places are limited. With four performances a night and small groups, book as soon as your dates are fixed.
Official tickets are non-refundable, except when the visit cannot take place for a reason attributable to the Alcázar (article 8 of the official regulations).
Summer concerts in the gardens
The Alcázar's summer concert series, Noches en los Jardines del Real Alcázar, reached its 27th edition in 2026: 63 concerts from 25 June to 19 September 2026, Tuesday to Saturday, covering flamenco, European roots music, world music, classical, early music and jazz. The official concerts page gives public access to the gardens from 21:00 – 22:25, and tickets cost €7.00.
Book early. According to El Español, past editions ran at an average occupancy of over 96%, and almost 80% of the concerts were full. If you know your summer dates, look at the programme as soon as it is published.
Not available to tourists: the free resident visits
You may read about free guided visits of the Alcázar. They exist, but they are only for people born in Seville or registered as living in the city, who must show their DNI or proof of registration. They began in April 2023 (Vivir Ediciones); today's version, a free guided visit to the roofs and the upper Grutesco gallery, is described in special visits.
If you are visiting from abroad, you cannot book them, and nobody can sell you a place on one.
